So your agent said you could save money by lowering underinsured coverage? |

I am often asked "What is the best way to lower my auto insurance premiums?" My number one response is to shop around - specifically let my agency shop dozens of companies for you.
But for this post I thought I would also share one way you should NEVER try to save a few bucks... do not, no matter what your current agent says, lower or remove your underinsured motorist coverage.
Underinsured coverage serves a very specific purpose. If you are in an accident like the one above and are the car in front you will be very happy to have the

In case you haven't heard, South Carolina is one of the target states of independent insurance companies. What this means for you is lower premiums on your auto and home insurance and better coverage options.
In order to gain market share, the best companies are reducing their auto and home insurance premiums and provided better protection options than the direct writers like Allstate, State Farm, and Nationwide. The companies we represent know they not only have to beat the big guys on price, but also offer a better all around value.
If you have been with the same company, especially a captive direct agent, for more than a few years - now is a great time to compare. We would love to have our top rated companies compete f ...

Medicare Supplement Insurance Get New Lower Rates |

If you are 65 or over, you have probably purchased or considered purchasing a medicare supplement policy. Well, we have great news for you. Our agency represents Mutual of Omaha, a 100 year old, top rated company that just happens to have the lowest medicare supplement premiums in South Carolina.
Because medicare supplement coverage is regulated by the federal government, the benefits for plans of the same type MUST be identical. For this reason, the only difference between policies is the price you pay and the stability of the company offering the policy.
Over the past several months our new medicare supplement clients have saved, on average, $798 per year on their poli ...

The absolute best way to save money on your personal insurance can be summed up on one word: competition. Right now in South Carolina your auto and home insurance is the target of many companies who want to give you better coverage and a lower price.
Our agency routinely saves our new clients over 35% on their auto insurance and home insurance in South Carolina by shopping for them. With on phone call you get dozens of top rated companies competing for your business.
Oddly enough, most people don't get a competitive quote on their personal insurance regularly. Often, our new clients have not shopped around in over six years. Don't make the mistake of assuming you are getting a good ...

Homeowner's policies

no policies cover damage from earthquakes and most do not cover expensive items

Why independent auto and home insurance agents rock |

There are many reason why I love being an independent auto and home insurance agent. Below are the top 5 reasons why every single insurance customer should consider doing business with a top local independent agent:
- Competition - A good independent agent will never have to sell you an auto or home insurance policy that is not the best fit for you just because that is the only company he has to sell. We usually have over a dozen top rated companies, each with its own unique benefits to each client.
- Local Economy - The profits from an independent agency stay in the community where they are earned. If the agent decides to buy a house, a car, or just groceries, that money is spent with local businesses.& ...

Auto Insurance Often Sucks... Your Agent Shouldn't |
|

Let's face it. Paying for auto insurance in South Carolina, or anywhere for that matter, pretty much sucks. You pay for it hoping that you never use it. What a concept.
That doesn't mean your agent or insurance company can just accept the fact that people don't like paying for their auto and home insurance, so just sell 'em a policy and leave 'em alone. At Palmetto Insurance we know that only a person with a warped sense of humor would enjoy paying insurance premiums.
But, we also know that when you need to use it you want an agency that is right there along side helping. So, our energy has three main targets:
- Get you the absolute best price on your auto and home insurance since that is what comes out of your pocket every month.
- Provide the right protection from top rated companies so when you need your protection it does what you expect.
- Make it easy and a pleasur ...
